Thanks for visiting. Today I want to talk to you about meditation. I have some new facts, research and fantastic news to share. I will talk about how meditation can change our lives, improve our health and more! Regilar maditation can help release your true psyhic potential, aLet’s start with an easy way to learn more about how meditation can be used to banish much sorrow, depression, anxiety. Basically, this practice can help make you feel better than you do right now. The first thing I want to introduce you to is free, easy and fun to do. I’m talking about a series of videos on Youtube: Guided meditations with Dr. Bernie Siegel.
This man’s wisdom, humor, and colorfully serene meditations got me through some very dark times, and I can’t tell you how excited I was to find that he has many meditations on YouTube! This is a great way to get started in guided meditations if you don’t have much experience. You can also visit his websiteand find books, tapes, CDs and more from this amazing man.
Meditation and Neuroplasticity
The only thing required is a quiet place to meditate and a willingness to make your life better! Our brains’ Neuroplasticity enables us to actually make changes by using meditation. With meditation, we can strengthen and improve our brain in ways that can be life-changing and extremely beneficial not only to ourselves but to
Rebecca Gladding M.D., author of “You Are Not Your Brain” recently wrote: “The brain, and how we are able to mold it, is fascinating and nothing short of amazing.“
Meditation can take your mind worlds away, without you ever having to move.
According to a study published in the highly esteemed ‘PLOS Medicine’ journal, people with the most social relationships (both quantity & quality) are not only much happier but live 50%+ longer (!) than the rest of us.
Another study by UCLA Professor of Medicine Dr. Steve Cole showed that “feeling connected” to others strengthens immunity, while other studies have cited lower levels of anxiety and depression, higher self-esteem and empathy, the list goes on.
Since almost all humans have a tendency to obsess over the past and worry about the future (instead of simply being present), too much time alone can have real mental and physical health consequences. Isolation can be good for short periods of time, but the development of psychic and intuitive ability requires interaction with other humans. Networking with like-minded people is a terrific way to expand your horizons, learn new techniques and grow your intuitive potential.
Help for Hermits
Now all you cyber hermits out there (you know who you are) can get the benefits of being a social person, without necessarily having to actually interact with humans. This is especially good news for those of us who suffer Bipolar Depression, Social Anxiety and a host of other conditions that make us tend to keep to ourselves. Meditation, even guided meditation on YouTube can trick our mind into feeling connected with other humans and benefit from the experience every bit as much as naturally sociable people.
Dr. Newburg, now a bestselling author, writes “When people lose their sense of self [in meditation], feeling a sense of oneness, [this] results in a blurring of the boundary between self and others…[with] no sense of space or passage of time.“
By making us feel connected to everyone and everything, meditation cancels out the detrimental mental, emotional, and physical effects of loneliness and isolation, conditions that affect more than half of modern society.
While friends come and go, meditation will always be there for you. Especially if you can use mp3, tapes, CDs or yes, even YouTube as tools to help your life become more full and balanced.
Exploring Real Life Community
Now, friends, I am not telling you that you have to be alone or isolated, I’m only offering a helping hand to those people who prefer to keep their own company and eschew crowds and gatherings. By all means, when you are ready, do seek out resources in your community to explore, and I know you will be delighted by how just the experience of exploring new places and ideas can enrich your life!
For instance, here in Madison Wisconsin, the community is very fortunate to have a place such as Cosmic Delights.
Cosmic Delights is a retail store and Mystical event center on East Washington Avenue in Madison Wisconsin. Find them online at www.cosmicdelights.com as well as at festivals and events in the area. They offer a great selection of jewelry, crystals, gifts, oils, incense, singing bowls, tarot, stickers, magnets, buttons, CBDs and other goodies.
Cosmic Delights also hosts a variety of events, workshops, and classes that enhance the body, mind spirit connection. Not to mention psychic readings with yours truly!
There are similar shops in almost all areas of America, and many around the world as well. Google up “metaphysical stores”, mystical gift shop” or similar for your area and take a walk on the wild side, see some new things, experience some new and very beautiful friends from the Mineral Kingdom, have a reading done, and just plain have some fun, whenever you feel ready. If sharpening your psychic and intuitive Gifts is one of your goals, it can be helpful to look for groups in your area such a Psychics Unite. In this group, I have found a terrific group of people who are intelligent, open-minded and always interested in learning more about the unseen world. The Madison, Wi group has opened my eyes to many aspects of the psychic and spiritual realm that I just had not even thought much about. A terrific group, easy to share experiences with and learn from, I highly recommend looking for this or similar groups in your area,
